I first heard Paulo Almeida on drums about 2 years ago and he made a really big impression on me right away.
Paulo is a complete musician: a drummer, composer, and singer, he sees the big picture and understands music in a deep and poetic way. Paulo also has a broad knowledge of the Brazilian and Afroamerican musical language, not only in the sense of mastering traditional rhythms but he embodies them completely in their full musical and cultural sense.
