FEBRUARY 20TH
IPÊ feat. Jorge Rossy

Following the acclaimed album Oferenda (2023), recorded in collaboration with guitarist Lionel Loueke, drummer, composer, and educator Paulo Almeida presents his newest project: Love in Motian.
Born from a deep immersion in the world of collective improvisation, the album celebrates spontaneous musical creation as a living, sensitive language—where each sound emerges from the present moment and attentive listening among the musicians. With this work, Paulo continues his path of aesthetic innovation, now pushing the boundaries between composition and improvisation within an environment of radical creative freedom.
Based in Basel, Switzerland, Paulo brings together an international quartet deeply connected to the European
contemporary jazz scene: Italian pianist Lorenzo Vitolo, Spanish bassist Joan Codina, and British saxophonist
Josh Schofield. The ensemble weaves a sonic landscape that shifts between harmonic impressionism and the openness of modern jazz, engaging in a musical dialogue that unfolds in real time.
Almeida's sixth album will be released by DOX Records, and the first single will be released on February 20 with the song Ipê featuring the great Jorge Rossy on vibraphone.
